A Milwaukee native, Dan graduated from Nicolet High School in 1976 before moving to St. Louis to attend Washington University. In 1980 he obtained his undergraduate degree in History and two years later he received his masters in History from the London School of Economics and Political Science.  Returning to Wisconsin, Dan received his law degree from Marquette University in 1984.

Since graduating, Dan has operated his own law practice, Chudnow Law Offices, LLC, where he concentrates in the areas of real estate, probate and estates, and personal injury law.  He is also President of his family’s real estate property management firm, Suburban Management Company, LLC, which owns and manages commercial and residential properties through out Wisconsin.

Dan has long been active in numerous local civic and charitable organizations.  He served as a member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Wisconsin, as the Vice President of the Urban Day School of Milwaukee, and as a Board member of the Jewish National Fund and Milwaukee Jewish Federation. He has also served as a long time member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Home and Care Center, where he is currently a Vice Chair and member of the Executive Board.  In addition, he is currently Chairman of the Board of the Sarah Chudnow Community and a Co-President of his synagogue, Congregation Anshai Lebowitz. 

Dan is currently the President of the nonprofit Chudnow Museum of Yesteryear, which features the lifelong collection of his late father, Avrum Chudnow, and includes artifacts from the Prohibition Era, the 1920’s and the 1930’s.  Dan’s political memorabilia collection is on permanent loan to the Museum.  His collecting specialty includes items related to the political campaigns of the Fighting Bob Lafollette and his family in Wisconsin.

Dan and his beautiful wife, Brigitte, reside in Mequon with their four children: Simon (19), Jonathan (15), and twins Sophie and Valerie (11).
